SurveyorSCTAssist (“the Extension”) is developed and operated by SurveyorSCTAssist Ltd. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and what is stored.

1. What data does the Extension access?

The Extension reads the visible text content of the active browser tab when you click the Insert or Scan Page buttons. This is used solely to auto-detect comparable property data (prices, dates, distances, EPC ratings, ground rent, service charges) and populate valuation phrase templates on your behalf.

The Extension does not access any other tabs, your browsing history, passwords, or any personal data unrelated to the active valuation page.

2. What data is stored?

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage APIs:

• Your custom phrase templates and settings (via chrome.storage.sync — synced to your Google account across your own devices)
• Your home postcode (used only for route calculation within the Extension)
• Cladding database files you upload (stored locally via chrome.storage.local)

None of this data is transmitted to any external server. It stays on your device (and your Google account’s sync storage).

3. Does the Extension collect any personal data?

No. The Extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with SurveyorSCTAssist Ltd or any third party. No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind is included.

4. Third-party services

The Extension uses the following third-party APIs, accessed directly from your browser:

• Google Maps / Directions API — used in the Route tab to calculate driving distances between postcodes. Requests are made directly from your browser and are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

5. Data retention

All data stored by the Extension remains under your control. You can clear it at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome or using Chrome’s built-in storage management tools.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available within the Extension and on the Chrome Web Store listing.
